Dear sailors, the ORC Worlds 2023 in Kiel are approaching with great strides and as we receive some enquiries, we are putting together some answers to frequently asked questions to you.
ORC international certificate
Each boat shall have a 2023 ORC international certificate issued up to 23 July 2023. Please send your certificate to orcworlds@kyc.de.
Trailer parking
Equipment containers shall be registered online at the event website no later than 31 July 2023. Payment can be made online. In exceptional circumstances, payment for trailers registered online may be made during check-in.
Crew lists and world sailing ID
Manage2Sail will close on 31 July 2023. Please ensure that you have entered your crew lists and world sailing ID completely and correctly by this date.
Corinthian and Female Divisions
If you want to compete as a Corinthian please be aware that you must have updated your data in Manage2Sail with the World Sailing Group 1 categorization by 31 July 2023 as stated in the Notice of Race (6.4). Women’s crews should send an email to orcworlds@kyc.de by 31 July 2023 stating their intention to enter the women’s division.
Crane and cleaning
The Crane in Schilksee is unfortunately unable to crane a ship with mast on. So we cannot offer cleaning of the underwater bottom in Schilksee with mast on the ship. You can ask the following shipyards in the area whether cleaning is possible there:

Supermarket
The nearest supermarket is on the shopping promenade directly above the Race Office (Fliegender Holländer 7-9, 24159 Kiel). The supermarket is open every day, but closes at lunchtime for a few hours. The nearest, somewhat larger supermarket is REWE and is located at the following address: Langenfelde 126A, 24159 Kiel. This market is also open every day.
After Sailing Beer and Social Events
After each day of racing there will be an After Sailing Beer on the meadow between the Race Office and the Sydbank-Lounge, to which all crews are invited. This great offer is possible thanks to our partners. More information on additional social events during the week will be presented soon.

Camping
For participants there is a camping site for tents and caravans / motor homes north of the Olympic Center in Kiel- Schilksee.
Overnight parking in cars on public parking lots and on the street is not allowed. It will be controlled by the police. A prior reservation is not possible and not necessary!
